Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher (bu:'SeI/boo-SHAY) born March 17, 1988. The name she is given is Grimes. Initial work has been called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4which draws influences from hip-hop, electronic and rock. The majority of her lyrics draw to science fiction and feminist issues. She's released five studio albums. Grimes was born in Vancouver before moving to Montreal. The singer began her independent music career in late 2000s. In 2010, she dropped two albums through Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. In 2012, Visions will be her third studio effort. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and was awarded the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. The album followed this and her fourth studio album, Art Angels, was released in the year 2015 and garnered high praise from critics as several publications have rated it as the top album of the year. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album. Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. Grimes was also a participant in the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
